Innocenti Advisory Committee meeting 20087 July 2008The annual Innocenti Advisory Committee (IAC) meeting is taking place in Florence today at the presence of UNICEF Deputy Executive Director, Saad Houry. This morning, before officially opening the IAC meeting, Saad Houry, together with Marta Santos Pais, Director of IRC, met with the President of the Tuscany Region, Claudio Martini, to discuss some specific issues related to the renewal of the Agreement between the Tuscany Region and IRC, including the translation into Italian of some strategic publication prepared by IRC, as well as the preparation of international events to promote the rights the child. |

During the session on World Congress III Against Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolecents, she spoke about the participation of adolescents at the World Congress. "They are not representing themselves, they are not representing an entity. They are there to represent the voices of all adolescents" she said.

Preparatory Meeting for the World Congress III Against Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents
21-23 April 2008From the 21st to the 23rd of April, the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre hosted a series of thematic expert consultations on child trafficking and child sex tourism, in preparation for the World Congress III against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents to be held in Brazil in November 2008. The consultations were organized in close cooperation with UNICEF’s Child Protection section in New York, and with the support of UNICEF TACRO and Brazil.
